Welcome to the Lions of Georgia District 18N!

On behalf of all the Lions of District 18N, thank you for exploring our multi-faceted locale! We are sure you’ll enjoy the many unique features of our district.

Lions District 18N is known to the world, not just for our fantastic Lions Clubs, but also for our diverse activities, cultural events and Southern hospitality found here. Extending from the Central Savannah River Area to the eastern lowlands at the Atlantic coast to the Florida border in the south, to the state’s western fertile farm lands and timber country of south central Georgia, there are places to discover to keep you busy 365 days of the year!

Highlighting our strong and proud military presence is Fort Gordon, home of the U.S. Signal Command and the new U.S. Army Cyber Command Center of Excellence. Also, Fort Stewart is the home of the 3rd Infantry Division of the U.S. Army and the home of Hunter Army Air Field, just an hour south in Brunswick Homeland Security has the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), continue down I-95 and you have the Kingsland Naval Base, home of a nuclear submarine fleet. With no shortage of institutions of higher education, District 18N includes the prestigious Medical College of Georgia, and Dental College of Georgia, now part of Augusta University, Georgia Military College, Savannah State University, Armstrong-Atlantic State University, Georgia Southern University and South Georgia College. Also well known is the Savannah College of Arts and Design with a strong fine arts program. Interested in sports? We have Class AA college football teams, the Augusta Green Jackets semi-professional baseball team and many local high school teams representing all sports. If you’re a foodie, be prepared! Our Southern traditions may entice you to enjoy a Low Country Boil, various Crawfish and Shrimp & Grits Festivals, the Vidalia Sweet Onion celebration and Claxton’s famous fruitcakes. Love the rolling hills of Augusta? We do, too and that’s why the legendary Bobby Jones built the Augusta National Golf Club, home of the Masters Golf Tournament, held each first full week of April. Are you seeking an ocean adventure or abundance of wildlife to photograph in District 18N? A visit to the Golden Isles Barrier Islands of Georgia will take you to Cumberland Island, Jekyll Island, St. Simon’s Island, Sea Island, Little St. Simon’s Island, and Tybee Island. Historic Darien is home to the pre-Revolutionary Ft. King George, as well as the annual Blessing of the Fleet celebration.  Milledgeville is remembered as being Georgia’s Capital City before and during the Civil War. Known for their pristine eco systems and wildlife are Phinizy Swamp Nature Park in Augusta and the famous Okefenokee Swamp and National Wildlife Refuge near the border of Florida. If business and commerce are your calling, you can view the 4th largest port in the United States in Garden City, the fastest growing containerized cargo port on the Savannah River. All in all, District 18N has something for everyone!

Our district covers 47 counties, has 58 clubs, 4 Leo Clubs, 1 Branch Club and over 1,210 Lions. We are the home district of the Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind, located next to Laura S. Walker State Park, just outside of the city of Waycross. We are proud of our Southern heritage and our history. We welcome you to view our sand beaches, moss-draped oaks, graceful sea grasses, stately pines and abundant flowers throughout our District. As always, we invite you to experience our gracious hospitality and enjoy the many offerings of our fabulous District 18N.
