DISTRICT GOVERNOR’S CONTEST – DISTRICT 18-B
100% Lions Club Award
District 18-B
2008 – 2009
This award replaces the former “District Governor’s Points Contest.” The purpose of the award is to reward overall excellence, to gain more participation, to make earning the award fairer and to eliminate most of the administrative burden on the clubs and on the District Secretary.
To qualify for this award, a Lions Club must accomplish all of the following during the Lions year 2008 – 2009, beginning on 1 July 08 and ending on 30 June 09..
1. Submit all Monthly Membership Reports on time.
2. Submit monthly Activities Reports or an Annual Activity Report on time.
3. Submit the PU-101 Report by 15 April, 2009.
4. Pay International, MD and District dues on time and have no balance due to Lions Clubs International as of May 1st 2009.
5. The President must attend at least one Zone Meeting and have club representation at all Zone Meetings and at the District and State Conventions.
6. Conduct at least one major Community Service Project and at least one major Fund Raising Project.
7. Have an active Public Relations Program.
8. Have an active Member Orientation Program.
9. Conduct a Club Self Evaluation.
10. Contribute to at least two of the charities supported by the Lions of Georgia: the Georgia Light House Foundation, the Georgia Camp for the Blind, or any of the others listed in the MD-18 Directory.
11. Finish the year with a net increase in membership, or start a new Lions Club.
Clubs must apply for this Excellence Award to their Zone Chairman by June 30, 2009. The Zone Chairman will verify that the club has accomplished all of the required tasks and forward the club’s application to the 2008 – 2009 Cabinet Secretary; CS Tina Pope, not later than July 15th, 2009. The 2008 – 2009 District Governor will personally visit each Lions Club that earns the award as early in the new year as possible to personally present the award at a club meeting.
It is my hope that all Lions Clubs will earn this award. Good luck to all.
