- Locally the Savannah Port City Lions with the cooperation of local Optometrists and Ophthalmologists provide eye exams and eyeglasses to persons who could not otherwise obtain these services.

Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Inc. – Decatur, Georgia
The Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Inc., is recognized for providing
vision and hearing care to Georgians in financial need. The Lions Lighthouse
serves all residents of Georgia who have no where else to turn for their eye
exams, eyeglasses, eye surgeries, low vision aids, artificial eyes, and hearing
aids.
Vision Services are provided with the generous help of 300 eye specialists who donate their fees, and anesthesiologists and hospitals who discount their surgical services. Lions Lighthouse pays for many different complex eye conditions for indigent Georgians of all ages. For every dollar donated, the Lions Lighthouse receives over $5.00 in discounted and donated services.
Georgia Lions Children's Eye Center at Emory University is a project of the Lions Lighthouse. Founded in 1995, this center provides cutting-edge genetic research and treatment of infants and children.
Used Eye Glasses are collected and sent to the Lighthouse where they are checked, cleaned and distributed to other agencies overseas.
The Hearing Aid Bank, organized in 1977, provides reconditioned hearing aids to Georgians in financial need. Lions club members and the public donate used hearing aids.
Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind
- Waycross, Georgia Visually impaired persons are given the chance to go to summer camp and experience life in a camp setting. Each year the campers travel to Savannah to play “Beeper Ball” with the Savannah Area Media. The game is played like baseball except the ball makes a beeping sound that the visually impaired person can detect. The opposing team is blindfolded. The result is a lot of fun for everyone. This organization supported by Lions Clubs, provides guide dogs to help provide independence for the visually impaired.
Lions Clubs International Foundation - This Lions club charity provides funding for major sight and hearing conservation projects all over the world.
Ga. Lions Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic - Athens, Georgia. Makes audio versions of popular books and newspapers available for the visually impaired and dyslexic.
Georgia Lions All State Band - The GLASB project brings forth the best in musical talent from across the state of Georgia. The band has performed for the Lions of Georgia at the State Convention and before the Lions of the world at several International Conventions. At the International Convention in Boston, 2006, the band received Third Place Honors at the International Parade.
