Disasters occur

When they do, people need help,

and Lions Respond.

The mission of the MD 18 Lions of Georgia ALERT program is to provide Lions with a standardized structure and network to deliver needed services to people in emergency situations.

MD18 Response Plan

During a Emergency:

Communications between the MD18 ALERT chairperson and the affected District ALERT Chairpersons along with the Council of Governors. This both by e-mail and Telephone conferences. ALERT e-mail messages are sent to Georgia Lions on group e-mail lists. When the Emergency is defined, partnering with involved emergency services is established. A community needs list is developed and is modified as the Emergency changes.

After the Emergency and the Clean up:

Lions Clubs are mobilized to establish collection points to collect relief materials. Georgia Lions Clubs raise funds to help purchase additional materials. Other Lions work directly with other relief agencies to distribute needed supplies. An assessment by the affected District Governor is made and the necessary LCIF Disaster Grant is applied for.
